Genealogy and my own ancestry has been a cursory interest of mine for several years. Through several generations, my family has compiled substantial information on the past, stretching back to the 1700s. One example this book, of which I did the cover for. It tells the history of Kansas and how a hundred and fifty years ago my ancestors helped in the fight to make Kansas a free state, ultimately leading to the Civil War.
I utilized an old map of the state from that time, as well as strong typefaces from past eras to create a multi-layered and flashy design which stays true to its subject manner.
